Vegas Downtown Blackjack - How to Play

The aim of all blackjack games is to obtain the hand closest to 21, without going over it.

    How to Bet

To place a bet, select a chip at the bottom of your screen, then click on a designated area of the table.

You can reduce your stake by holding the space bar and clicking on the chips you want to remove.

Click ‘Clear’ to remove all of your bets.

Click ‘Deal’ to start your game.

    Betting Options

There are three betting options in this game:

    • Repeat and Deal – repeats your bet from the previous game
    • Let ‘em Ride – this will bet the total amount you won on your previous game
    • Double and Bet – doubles your stake from the previous game, as long as you remain under the table limit

    How to Play

At the start of the game, you and the dealer will both be dealt two cards each.

Continue drawing cards until your hand reaches 21 or is as close to 21 as possible:

    • Hit - adds another card to your hand
    • Stand - ends play on your current hand
    • Splitting - splits your one hand into two separate hands (please note you must double your bet to do this). You can split your hand if your initial two cards are of the same value
    • Double Down - allows you to double your original bet and receive one more card only. You'll only be able to receive the extra card if your initial two cards equal nine, 10 or 11

    Game Rules

Blackjack is when your initial two cards contain an Ace and a 10 or picture card - this is the best hand possible and will always beat non-blackjack 21's.

If your hand exceeds 21, it will 'bust' and lose, regardless of the dealer's hand.

If your hand is worth the same as the dealer’s, you'll receive your bet back - however, if either hand includes an Ace and a picture card, that hand wins.

The dealer must draw if their hand totals 16 or less; they must 'stand' if their hand totals 17 or more.

    Card Values

    • Picture cards have a value of 10
    • Ace can score one or 11, depending on which value benefits your hand better
    • Cards two to 10 are taken at face value

    Insurance

If the dealer’s first card is an Ace, you can buy Insurance to try and protect your hand.

The Insurance bet is priced at half of your original wager.

Insurance will only cover your original wager; it doesn't cover your bet if you choose to Double Down.

    Return to Player (RTP)

    Return to Player: 99.62%.

The expected return is the amount we pay out to players relative to the amount of wagering on the game.

For example, if we take $100 of wagers we will, on average, pay out $99.62 of wins.

This return is based on the player making the right choices.
